Yesterday I had to go into work for a mandatory day of classes and then last night I had to go in at 11 for night shift on my floor. Talk about exhausted! It's been a busy week this week and I feel like everytime I go to write, something else comes up.
I cannot believe that our one year anniversary is creeping up on us already. It's exactly one week away from today : )
We are very much looking forward to our 3-day trip to Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY. I'm also very much looking forward to the cake on our anniversary. I ordered a top-layer in the exact same flavors just in case our frozen layer is gross. I have heard mixed reviews-- some people say it tasted exactly the same as it did on their wedding day and others cringe after just one bite!
Other things I am looking forward to:
- trying out a ton of new recipes. I watched an episode of Oprah the other day and they showcase so many easy, healthy recipes. I cannot wait to get back in the kitchen and try some of them out. I go through phases where I cook all the time, then hardly at all. I would love to cook on a more regular basis.
-figuring out our housing situation. I have faith that everything will work out for the house that we have been pursuing but it has certainly been a looooooonnnnnng road. We absolutely love the house though which makes it more than worth it! Some days I feel like this has been the most drawn out process and it doesn't seem like we're getting anywhere. Other days, I'm thankful for the slowed process because it a) gives us more time to save up money which means our downpayment continues to grow and b) the idea of being a homeowner still kind of freaks me out. I'm very excited for the day everything gets finalized but it's overwhelming as well.
- going on a date to the movie theater with Michael tonight! We both enjoy seeing movies in theaters. It's probably one of our favorite things to do : ) It can get expensive rather quickly, though. Tonight we're going to see Funny People.
- getting a set schedule at work. Of course when this happens.. it means I'll be out of the orientation phase at work. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! My transition to night shift has been very easy for me. I've always been a night owl but I still don't typically stay up until 7:30 am!! I assumed that I would be falling asleep but I felt great all night long. I am praying that I end up on that shift. I've thought about it, and it will be best for when holidays roll around. I love all of our family functions and really don't want to miss out on several of them.
